2006-04-07 Windows XP on Intel based Apple computers

Upon in January Macs with Intel-technologies were introduced for the first time on the market, it is now possible to install Windows XP with a special boot-manager on the new Intel-based Mac. This solution with the name “boot camp” can be downloaded for free on each reequipt Mac. But it is to say that this is in the moment only a preliminary-version, only in the next Mac OS X-generation it will be directly integrated. The boot-manager makes it possible at the start of the Mac to decide between Windows XP or Mac OS X.

Economically seen this revolutionary decision from Apple has to been paid off already, the share rose by 10 per cent.
With this success it is surely only a matter of time until the next blow will be dealed against the Microsoft-empire, perhaps, even if Mac OS X is adapted officially to Intel based PC’s. For a long time this procedure can probably no more take time, the market-situation is just now good, because there is hardlay competition: Windows XP is exhausted, Windows Vista not yet ripe for the market and other suppliers are still in the development. But it will not take long time and Linux makes in the moment giant steps in user-friendliness.
