If with frequent office-work cramps in the fingers and pains in the elbows or the wrist arise, then this are certain symtoms for a mouse-arm. The painfull illness results because of a permanent wrong strain during the office-work with the computer-mouse. During the most monotonous office-work is the hand for hours bended over the mouse, so that the musculature at the forearm are shortend permanentely. Possible consequences are tendovaginitis or an inflammation of the tendor at the elbow.
This illness is easily avoidable by preventive exercises which should be done once or twice per week. Thereby is the arm to sprawled, the hand is loosed and the other hand pulled the hand to the body. Furthermore doctors recommends to position the mouse between keyboard and body so that the arm is not permanentely sprawled.
If there are already acute pains, a break should be made to relax the arm. Additionally it is recommended to repeat the exercises every hour for five minutes. Near 80% of the clients the pain weaken after a short time. In some cases the illness is more seriously so that the therapy becomes very long. Then the doctor can administer a physiotherapy or a shock-wave-therapy.
