2006-07-13 The Federal Government developed an anti-spam-law
On Wednesday the draft for the „electronic law for unification in the business connections” (EIGVG) was passed. Behind this cryptical name is a law, which protect the consumer against unwanted advertising.
In the future must the advertisement, which is sent away on an electronical way, be marked in the header and in the subject heading clearly. It must become clearly who the addresser is and whether the message has a commercial background.
On the basis of these information the receiver can decide what is to do with the message, so the federal cabinet. Also the filtering of spam will be substantielly simplified.
The breach of these new resolution shall entail fines until 50,000 euro.
The Federal Ministry of Economics is get itself straight that the a majority of the spam-mails come from foreign countries. Nevetheless there is the hope to set a sign with this resolution.
